Hello

Ok, so I've decided to start a blog and post things that are going on in our daily lives. I know, I know, you never thought I would do something like this. Well, I don't really have the time but I thought it would be kind of fun for everyone to keep up with us this way.

Playing With Dad

We're so glad that we were able to have some family time. Jeremy had to work part day on Christmas Eve and then he was able to come home and spend time with us. He had to go to work on Saturday but then he was able to come home on Sunday. Of course he had to go back to work on Monday but will be home on Wednesday and spend the New Years Day with us. We're just thankful that he has a job and that we are together as a family.

Legos From Grandpa & Grandma Newman

Yes, those are legos from the Newman Grandparents. There was two sets for Tagge and Scott. So nice to have enough legos now.

Legos Galore

Of course, it wouldn't be a Lego Christmas without legos from Uncle Brett and Grandma and Grandpa Finney. I have to say I love legos and it's nice to have more for the boys so there is enough for both of them.

More Legos

Yes, Scott got legos from Santa too.

Legos

This year is the year of legos. I think we got legos from everyone this year. Should keep them busy for a while.

Remote Control Helicopter

The boys love getting remote control toys for Christmas. And of course you can't just buy one. Scott and Tagge have to have their own.

My Own Tools

Scott was excited that Santa got him his own set of tools and a tool box to put them in. Now when he goes to work with Dad he can really help him.

Singing At Christmas

The kids had fun ringing their bells while singing Jingle Bells and of course it looks like Kennadi is trying to lead them but she was just trying to get one of their bells.

Catching Air

We are soooo glad that there is someplace close for the kids to go tubing. And of course, it's always better when someone has built up a jump. Tagge loves getting air.

Snowboarding

Scott was so excited to try snowboarding. Of course he's using Jeremy's board but considering how big it is on his feet he did surprisingly well.

Thunder

Our family wouldn't be complete without a couple of animals running around but Thunder thinks she is a human and needs to be involved in everything we do. In this picture she's being referee to the wrestling match. Making sure that the boys aren't being hurt by Dad. What a good dog.

Rough Housing With Dad

Of course the day wouldn't be complete without a wrestling match with Dad. And obviously Dad won.

Playing With Dad

Of course Tagger had to have his picture taken on Dad's shoulders too.

Playtime With Dad

Do we really need to mention how much fun the boys have playing with Dad. I think not.

Look, No Cavities For Me Either

We were just as excited that Scott didn't have any cavities either. Aren't we lucky!

Look No Cavities.

We were definitely happy after our recent visit to the dentist to find out that Tagge didn't

have any cavities. Way to go Tagge!

Giant Pacu

No words are really needed for this picture unless you'd like to give them a new home. They are outgrowing our tank.

Teeth

These are the teeth on one of our pacu. They are related to the piranha's and we feed them shrimp and other feeder fish.

Tinny- Our Tinfoil Barb

I know, I know, real original name huh. But that's what the boys and Jeremy decided to name him. This picture doesn't really do him justice but it was the best one that I could get of him. He's actually about 6 inches long.

Lightning- Our African Cyclid

This is Lightning- our killer fish. We had to isolate him in his own tank because he kept

killing all the other fish that we put in there with him. But once the pacu got big enough that he couldn't hurt them we put him in there to teach him some manners. Thankfully they all get along well.

Pleco

This is our pleco. He's actually about 7 1/2" long. He (or she) has such pretty patterns.

Oscar the Oscar

This is Oscar our white oscar. We were cleaning the 110 gallon fish tank and decided to try and get some pictures for Scott to take to school for show and tell. Since he really wanted to take the actual fish and they are too big to do that with.

Our Thanksgiving Roast

Jeremy decided this year that if we were going to do a dinner at out house he wasn't going to cook turkey. So instead we had roast and potatoes. The Newman's brought pies and Brett brought rolls. It was a great meal.

No Words Are Needed

Helping Dad Out

We were up on the roof from about 10:30 am until 6:30 pm and Scott was up there all day. He was such a big help and I don't think you could have made Jeremy a happier dad knowing that his son helped as much as he did.

Setting Out Shingles

Scott was so excited that Daddy let him get up on the top roof and help him get the shingles put on. Scott's job was to help get the shingles laid out and handed to Jeremy. He stuck with it and helped all day long. We are sooo proud of him. Good job Scott!

Mrs. Johnson And Scott

This is Mrs. Johnson, Scott's teacher. Scott was almost immediately comfortable around her because she reminded him a lot of Aunt Stacey. I've been going in and working with his class on sight words and I have to say, I think she's a great teacher.

Mrs. Dodds and Tagge

This is Mrs. Dodds, Tagge's kindergarten teacher. He also has an aide that helps in his class but I haven't managed to get a picture of her yet.

Gateway Preparatory Academy

This is the front of the kids' school. It is nice inside and we're thankful that we were able to get in.

Smiles

Don't think you'll see a bigger smile than this. Riding the four wheeler is Scott's favorite thing to do when we go and visit Jeremy in Kanab. I don't think he even cares if he sees his dad as long as he gets to ride the four wheeler.

Four Wheeling

So Scott feels like the biggest kid around because his dad finally let him take Tagge on a ride on the four wheeler. Scott spent a couple of days alone with his dad in Kanab and got to ride by himself and get the feel of driving it alone. (I've been working with him when I'm over there and letting him drive while I ride along with him.) But dad finally relented and said he could take Tagger around for a short ride. You would not believe the smile on his face. I don't think it could have gotten any bigger. We're so proud of him for being so grown up and responsible about the safety and rules associated with the four wheeler.

The Boys For Halloween

Thank goodness Halloween is finally over. The boys love dressing up in their costumes and trying to get them to stay out of them so they didn't ruin them before we could go trick or treating was just about impossible. But we made it with only minor problems that we were able to fix with safety pins. They both had a great time trick or treating and came away with quite a stash of candy (oh yeah).

Tagge Is A Power Ranger (Again)

Ok, So here it is again this year. Year 3 for Tagge wanting to be the Blue Power Ranger. I think it's great that he likes it so much and of course we have to buy a new costume each year because he wears the costume so much during the year that he wears it out. But he loves it so what are you going to do.

Scott Is A Zombie

This year Scott saw the Zombie costume and immediately knew that's what he wanted to be. First time he's really wanted to be something scary but I guess he's growing up already.

Halloween

The boys with Uncle Brett. Tagge is the Power Ranger and Scott is the Zombie. We try and get a picture with Uncle Brett every year for the boys' scrapbooks.

Doing The Hula

Jeremy trying to do the hula at his Grandparents Anniversary party last December in California

Playing Around

This is one of my favorite photos of the boys and Jeremy. You can tell that they are having a good time. I hope that they will always remember that their dad loves to spend time with them

Fun At The Beach

Just some random pictures I came across while looking through all of the pictures I have.
La Jolla Beach- 2008
Holding up our swimsuits so we don't get wet.

Fish Pond

Tagge's first fish at Kids Pond. It was such a beautiful day up here. couldn't have asked for anything better than being with family.

Tagge's Birthday

Tagge wanted to go to Fish Pond for his birthday. They boys have really taken a liking to fishing, which to their dad is just fine with him. This was Scott's first fish caught that day. Both of them ended up catching a couple of fish each.

First Day Of School

So we got to start school almost two weeks after everyone else did because the school wasn't ready. But here are the boys on their first day. They were both pretty excited about going to a new school and seeing their friends. It will be nice for us all to have a regular schedule again.

Tagge's Birthday

So Jeremy had to console Tagge (who has tears in his eyes if you can't see them in the photo) and tell him that he had more presents in our closet. We felt bad but it was hard not to laugh at his reaction. He was a good sport though after he found out there were other 'boy' presents for him. We had a lot of fun.

Tagge's Birthday

So for Tagge's birthday this year Jeremy wanted to get him a gag gift. So we went to Wal-Mart and bought a My Little Pony for him. Of course we had other presents also but Jeremy's has always wanted to do this. Well, this was Tagge's face when he opened up the present and saw what it was.

Jeremy's Trailer

Ok, so everyone that has been wondering about Jeremy lately. This is what he has been living in over in Kanab. Don't worry, he fixed the inside up so it is nice. Cramped but nice. The boys think it's a great treat to go stay with dad. It has a bunk bed over the table that they get to sleep on. Definitely cramped when we are all there but for one guy to stay in during the week it works out well. And it does have a toilet and shower so it's like his own little hotel room on wheels. We actually have paint for it but Jeremy ran out of time and had to get it over to work. So maybe in the spring it will get painted. It will be nice if we ever decide to take the boys to the sand dunes to have someplace to go to get out of the sand and the boys don't seem to mind at all. Of course what kid would.

Family Picture

This was our family picture two years ago now but it's got to be one of my favorites. We're going to try and get another one done this year and don't be too surprised if we're in orange again. Seems to go well with everyone in the family.

Tagge

Tagger had to get his picture taken on the new playground too. Of course, Tagge loves to get his picture taken so it wasn't too hard to convince him to let me take his picture. They are both getting so big.

Scott

Scott was excited to finally have the playground done at his school. They didn't have it finished when school started so the kids haven't had anything to play on. It's a pretty cool playground and we're glad it's ready for the kids to play on.

Jeremy

Jeremy is the love of my life. I know sounds sappy but he is. We met in February of '95 through his cousin Charlie. At first it was more of a hanging out with friends thing but then he asked me to my senior prom so that we could double date with Charlie. Things quickly progressed from there and we were engaged the night of the opening ceremonies for the Utah Summer Games (June 10, '95). It took us almost two days to tell my parents and almost a week before we told his parents. We were married August 5, 1995 at my parents’ house in Cedar City, UT. Then we took off for a week to California.

Jeremy was working for Riley Plumbing and was his foreman. Riley trusted that he would take care of everything and he did. We are thankful to Riley for giving Jeremy the chance and of course Scott's middle name is Riley after him.

Jeremy is capable of doing just about everything he sets his mind to. At the moment he is working for Color Country Community Housing. It's a government program that helps families get into a home. He is the construction supervisor over a group of families that build their own homes and use the sweat equity towards their mortgages. He also does their plumbing. He is working with a group of six families in Kanab. It has been a challenge with the boys and I being here in Cedar and Jeremy in Kanab but we're making it work. We bought a travel trailer so that he wouldn't have to drive back and forth every day and when we go over there to stay with him we don't have to get a hotel. It's working out so far and the boys love to go over and "camp" with dad. I think they like riding the four-wheeler more than anything.

Jenn

I am Scott and Tagge's mom. (I love saying that.) I am also Finney's wife. These are a few of the things that I'm called but my name is Jenn. Some of the things that I love to do besides being with my family are scrapbooking and stamping. I love to go into my office and stamp cards and scrapbook. I'll probably create a little section and post some of my cards and scrapbook pages so everyone can see. It's my way of relaxing and although Jeremy gets on my case about spending too much time in there I think he understands why I do. We all need that escape and I love creating things. I also enjoy reading, crocheting and going on vacation. I would really love to go on another cruise but it will probably be a while before that happens. I am currently working at Home Depot. I only work three hours a day while Tagge is at kindergarten but it suits me just fine. It gets me out of the house and brings in a little extra money for my stamping supplies. I just had my four year anniversary for working there and that was impressive for me considering all the changes that I've had while working there. I've been a cashier, head cashier, inventory management associate and flower waterer. Now I'm back to being a cashier because the garden season is over and they didn't know where else to put me with my availability. Enough about my work though.

One other thing that I love to do is photography. I have been published twice now by the International Library of Photography. That was cool to have happen.

Scott

Scott Riley was born June 10, 2001. He has been our blessing in disguise. He has always been active and we love that about him. He was rolling over at a month, crawling by three and walking at eleven months. It was soooo nice the day he figured out how to get around the house by himself. Scott couldn't stand not being able to go where he wanted to and is still that way to this day. He is definitely his father's son though. Has to learn though hands on and let me tell you we have had quite a few toys taken apart just so he could see how they work. He keeps us on our toes.

Some of his favorite things are hanging out with his dad, riding the four-wheeler, tacos and being outside. Winter is really hard for him because he hates the cold- sound like Jeremy at all? He is in second grade this year and going to Gateway Preparatory Academy and loving it.

Tagge

Tagge- also known as Tagger and Taggeroni. He is my touchy-feely child. Unlike Scott he likes to have people in the room with him and he loves to cuddle. He is the complete opposite of Scott. He was slower at getting around because he was content to sit and watch everyone else. Tagge loves to follow his brother around though and I'm sure that some days it really annoys Scott, but that's what little brothers do. He is in kindergarten this year and is thrilled to finally be going to school. He is also attending Gateway Preparatory Academy. In his kindergarten class he is learning sign language, which has been fun and has already mastered his ABC's. Some of

Tagger's favorite things are hang out with the family, ride bikes, follow Scott, play with friends, and Pokemon. He loves music. He will start dancing everytime he hears an upbeat song and tries to sing along. Luckily for us he has a great ear for songs and isn't tone deaf.
